Taxes - a certainty in life

No-one likes taxes.  Some people say they are a “Necessary Evil”.  I don’t like that phrase.  They do bring good into a society if managed properly.  Our government has a responsibility to spend our taxes wisely and although we may not always agree with how they do that we and our community around us benefit from paying taxes.

So we don’t like paying them!  Being successful in our work or business means they become a regular conversation for us.  An excellent thing about taxes is that they are mostly predictable.  There is a large amount of legislation around how they work so for the most part you can know how a transaction is going to be taxed.

This means that if you are feeling overwhelmed by your business and not knowing how much to put aside for taxes and how much to spend on your lifestyle the legislation provides a framework to estimate these amounts.  Although it cannot be 100% accurate it can give us more comfort knowing we have money aside to pay it.
